50th
ANNIVERSARY DONS PARADA BAND
Alumni Band Update!
Happy
Holidays to the former Coronado High School band members,
Donettes, color guard, twirlers, pit, drum majors and
cheerleaders!
Our
next performance will be in the Parada del Sol on February
11, 2012!
Parade details:
The parade starts at 10:00AM and tentative call time is
8:00. We won’t know our place in the parade order until the
morning of the parade. The parade runs north up Scottsdale
Road from Oak to Indian School. We’ll meet at Coronado High
School. We suggest having a car parked at Fry’s on Indian
School and Miller so you can drive back to the school.
Music: We will
play the Fight Song. The music is posted on the alumni
section of the band website at
www.donsband.org.
Uniform: The
band, color guard and cheerleaders will wear the 50th
anniversary t-shirt that we wore at homecoming and jeans
with tennis shoes. The Donettes will also wear the same
outfit from homecoming – Donette t-shirt, black yoga pants
and black shoes.
Instruments:
Unfortunately, we will not be able to borrow instruments
from the school for the parade. Many band members rented
from Milano’s for homecoming. You can contact Milano’s at
(480) 827-1111.
Rehearsal:
Yes, we will have a rehearsal to practice playing and
marching at the same time and doing those turns. We’ll meet
at the Coronado football field at 6:00PM on Friday, February
10, 2012. We’ll march around the track until 7:00 and then
go to Flicka’s. It will be an early morning the next day,
so don’t have too much fun!
Register: To
register, please send an email to
alumni@donsband.org with your name and instrument. If
you need a t-shirt, please include your size in the email.
Tell your friends! This is the one time that we will march
in the Parada del Sol so let’s make it huge!
