Doc shared some information with the Boosters -
Liberty High School is who we are playing in
the first round of the playoffs. It is in Peoria. The district will
provide one bus so Doc will put together a PEP group to play in the stands
(35-40 kids and equipment). It will be by volunteer based on class,
seniors first option, etc. Watch for permission slips. Friday the
band will play pep rally at 7:30 in the halls at school.
Doc stated he was a bit hesitant to plan a spring tour because of cost.
there are at least 15 kids that have not paid for band camp yet. He is
looking into a less expensive option like a turn around trip to Disneyland.
Tax credit money cannot be used for this trip. Doc will get more
information.
Mr. Biera asked Bob Ingram to be a part of a planning forum being held by the
school district at Coronado. there are going to be forums at all of the
schools. Please watch for these and if you are asked and or are
available please go and show your support to the band and the schools arts
programs. Discussion on further support and communication was tabled until
the next Band Booster Meeting in December.
Doc thanked everyone for their support and hard work.
Mlee read pertinent paragraphs from the Band Booster Bylaws regarding the
e-board elections. There shall be no less then 5 officers and no more then
seven. There shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary Treasure and
3 Members at Large. One of the Members at Large will be the Immediate Past

Sharon Morgan made a motion that the Band Boosters pay the remaining amount of
the Seniors full page ad in the Yearbook prior to the deadline of November 30th.
this will only be a loan and needs to be paid back to the boosters. The
Seniors are not aware the the Boosters are doing this. Melinda Contreras
seconded the motion, motion passed.
Winter Concert is December 8th. Need to get form in to Student Government to sell Roses and Water. Mlee will get form processed. James Mitchell will coordinate volunteers t o sell items. Will push the Blue and Red fundraiser. Will get Insurance amendment and rental agreement signed and in place so we can do a drawing for the Blue and Red fund raiser to bring in more money. We will announce and advertise at the concert. Students cannot be involved.
Fundraisers
Red/Blue envelopes Fundraiser - Still collecting money. Need to keep advertising and get the momentum going again. Right now band folks are the only ones contributing. If not a band family there is no reason currently to participate. Will push for more for the Winter Concert. James suggested using e-Invite on the web to invite folks to participate in the drive.
Cookbook fundraiser- Has been postponed. Will continue to gather
recipes and try to get out after the first of the year. We would not have
time to do before Christmas.
Romes Pizza Remember the fundraiser for November. The forms
were e-mailed and are also on the website. 15% of ticket over $15 goes to
the Dons Bands.
Tax credit Remember the tax credit is still available and must be done
before 12/31 for 2009. Forms and information are on the website.
