Dr. Schultz J. Bennett Coronado Dons' Bands Director
Dr. Schultz J. Bennett has
held teaching positions at both the university and high school
levels. He as been with the Scottsdale Public Schools for fourteen
years. Prior to teaching in Scottsdale, he held positions in
Louisiana as well as California.
Dr. Bennett
received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Education) and Master of
Fine Arts (Multiple Wind Performance) degrees from Stephen F. Austin
State University. In 1994, he received his Doctor of Musical Arts
degree from Arizona State University.
As a performer,
Dr. Bennett has performed with numerous musical ensembles in Arizona
as well as giving lecture recitals and Master classes in Louisiana
and Florida. He is also active as an adjudicator. While teaching
in California, Dr. Bennett was very active in the Winter Guard and
Winter Drum circuit.
Dr. Bennett is
an active member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC),
Arizona Music Educators Association (AMEA), and the Arizona Band and
Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA).

Matt Pfliger
Coronado Dons Marching Band Color
Guard Instructor.
Matt
Pfliger grew up in Northern Arizona where he became interested in
high school marching bands and colorguard
Since 1985 he has
been teaching and choreographing high school, university and drum
and bugle corps colorguards. He has now instructed in Arizona,
Nevada and Washington. In 1989-90 taught Sunset Regiments Drum and
Bugle Corps Colorguard. 1990-91 University of Nevada Las Vegas
Marching Band, colorguard and drill writer.
In 1984 he became a member of the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps,
Denver, Colorado. And was in there colorguard for 2 years. In 1985
the Blue Knights performed for President Reagan in the Ingural
Parade. In 1987 he was a member of Suncoast Sound Drum and Bugle
Corps Colorguard Tampa, Florida.
Matt Pfliger was also a member of Blue Thunder Drumline for NFL team
Seattle Seahawks. 2005-07. He performed with the Seahawks Blue
Thunder Drumline for the 2006 Super Bowl.
Matt Pfliger has contributed to many successful marching bands and
colorguard programs.
And is pleased to be working with the marching band and colorguard
of Coronado High School.
