The Dons Marching band and the Alumni Marching Band will be marching in this year's Parada del Sol Parade. The parade is Saturday, February 11, 2012, Scottsdale, AZ Student call time is 8:30am in the Coronado Band Room. Itinerary

We are seeking your support for the 2012 "Birdie for the Band" Golf Tournament to benefit Coronado High School Dons‟ Bands. This tournament will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at McCormick Ranch Golf Club.

Hello former Coronado High School band members, Donettes, color guard, twirlers, pit and drum majors! The 50th anniversary activities continue. Check back for updates. Go Dons!

Registration If you have not registered yet, please do so now at www.donsband.org/registration.html. If you have trouble registering, hit refresh. If it still doesn't work, email your information to alumni@donsband.org. We need your registration for show charting, music, t-shirts and instruments. If you are still trying to decide whether or not to be in the band, the answer is just do it! We will have other alumni bands, but this will be the only 50^th anniversary alumni band. We've had a huge response and you will be glad that you were a part of it.

Concert Band After homecoming, we'll send you information on the alumni band joining Coronado's band in concert to celebrate the 50^th anniversary.

Parada del Sol The alumni band, color guard and Donettes will also be marching in the Parada del Sol on February 11, 2012

Support the Band We have been challenged to raise $10,000 for the Coronado Band program. The band is completely supported by student fees and band booster fund raising.

Memories Mike Jones, class of 1981, is putting together a history of the band and needs your pictures! Please send them to jetblastaz@aol.com. Also, Robert Swierski is producing a documentary on the history of fine arts and the Donettes. If you are interested in being part of it, you can contact Robert at rp.swierski@cox.net.

Music The Fight Song, Hymn and fingering charts are available at www.donsband.org. Stand music will be available at our rehearsal on Monday, September 26, 2011.

Uniform -- the uniform is the 50^th anniversary t-shirt ($20) and jeans. This is a different t-shirt than we have worn in the past. The shirts will be available by Friday 9/30/11 and you can pay when you pick it up.

Map of Coronado -- most of you know that Coronado has been demolished and rebuilt. The band room and choir room were added on to the only original building, the gym (the football stands also survived). Just look for the old accordion roof and you'll be in the right place. The Coronado Dons Bands website needs new pictures. Anyone that has pictures from this season that you can share with us for the website, please send them to me via e-mail (john@donsband.org) or copy them on a cd and give them to Doc. We will add pictures to the picture page as well as incorporating them through out the website. Thanks, John K.

If you would like to help the band, but are not able to give of your time, please consider donating any of the following items to the uniform department:

Items can be given to any band booster or to Dr. Bennett. Please mark them as donation to the uniform department. __________________________________________

Do you see a picture in our picture section that you would like to have a professional copy of?
Maybe you would like to send a copy to Grandma or Grandpa or some other special person.

The Band boosters can get professional quality pictures made of the photos you would like to have. Just select the picture by choosing the number on the left of the row and which picture in that row (i.e. the first, second, third etc.) you would like to have along with the quantity and size and send your request to Melinda Contreras at latorose@cox.net

Band Booster meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm.

E-Board for the Band Boosters meetings are changed to the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00.

Meetings will be held at the Coronado Band room.

You may have noticed we have added a new button to on navigation table on the left hand side of the page "Charms Office" Charms office is a new tool the Coronado Dons Bands will be using to track student accounts and student expenses, publish activities using a new calendar, manage uniform and instrument inventory, manage band trips and track fundraisers.

To log in to Charms Office use:

   School code: coronadodons

   Student Password: (your Coronado student id)

This password can be changed once you login for the first time. More information will be coming from Doc, in the mean time, log in and look around.

Fry's / Kroger Stores Fundraiser

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?

Don’s Bands Supporters can buy a Fry's Gift Card for $5 and will get a gift card in return with $5 loaded on it (so really, you are paying nothing for the card).

Then, the buyer reloads the gift card at the register at Fry's before paying for their groceries. Then the clerk totals your groceries and subtracts from the gift card. Gift cards are like cash. The remaining money will stay on the card until its next use. You can reload the card up to $500 at a time.

Important! In order for the Dons Band Boosters to receive credit, recharges must be done prior to the start of your order. All recharges must be done as a separate transaction. Recharges cannot take place within an order.
